Job Description
• prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
• Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
• Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
• Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
• Search legal records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed.
• Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
• Process data
• Interpret data using maps, charts and plans
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) and other IT software to interpret data and present information
• Keep up to date with new and emerging technology
• Land Surveyor is expected to know the land survey standards and its latest revisions, have a working knowledge of the relevant statutory requirements, and comply with all the requirements concerning supervision, quality control and other documentation.
• Attend meetings
• Liaise with relevant authorities when it is necessary.
Client and sub-contractors
• Provide reports on actual costs vs estimate and identify underlying reasons for any variance External Relationships:
• Ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate for the company, with commercial risks identified
• Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
• Build and maintain good relationships with clients, suppliers as well as main contractors
• Liaise with the client, client representatives, main contractors, suppliers and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments Internal Relationships
• Act as Mentor/Advisor to subordinates to resolve technical, commercial, and human relations matters.
• Manages the resources on project and within the team to drive maximum efficiencies.
• Work closely with the procurement team to develop and monitor procurement strategy
• Ensure all project management team members understand the contractual arrangements
• Be proactive and advise site teams on costs and management of costs
Job Requirement
• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering/Geomatics/Geographical Info. Science.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction & Land Surveying
• Knowledge of geographical information systems (GIS), GPS, Drone and CAD as well as general IT skills.
• Decision-making skills and the ability to work independently
• Ability to handle responsibility

• Urban and land studies
• Capacity to identify problems quickly and to offer solutions
• Ability to conceptualize 2D and 3D information.
• Willingness to travel on occasion required.
• Proficiency in surveying equipment.
• Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of a project.
• Ability to work in a team environment and be willing to work independently.
• Follows prescribed safety practices for Land Surveying.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
